Tim Yanke is an American artist born in 1961 in Detroit, Michigan. He is known for his colorful and abstract paintings that blend elements of traditional American folk art with contemporary expressionism. Yanke grew up in Michigan and began his career as a graphic designer before transitioning to fine art.
Yanke’s artwork often features symbols and motifs from his Native American heritage, including feathers, dreamcatchers, and medicine wheels. He uses a unique layering technique, applying paint and glaze in multiple layers to create a depth and texture in his work. Yanke’s artwork has been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world, and he has been commissioned to create artwork for many public and private collections.
In addition to his art, Yanke is also a philanthropist and is involved in many charitable organizations, including the Children’s Hospital of Michigan and the Detroit Institute of Arts. He has received numerous awards and honors throughout his career, including the Michigan Governor’s Award for Arts and Culture in 2017. Yanke continues to create art and inspire others with his unique style and vision.
